1. DOMAIN REGISTRATION DETAILS: When you register your domain name with any registrar, your personal information is published in the Whois Public Internet Directory to be viewed by anyone at anytime. This is required by ICANN as part of the domain name registration process. Public likes has kept important information such as physical address, email address and phone number PRIVATE. What are they hiding? Is there anything they don’t want us to know?
2. DOMAIN AGE:
Puliclikes.com was registered on 29 March, 2017 so it is barely 1 month old. Newly registered domains are an effective tool for scammers. Scammers create new infrastructure quickly, engaging in their dubious campaigns and then duck and run in a matter of months. With this in mind, you should always treat newly registered domains with quite a bit more suspicion than established ones.
3. FAKE US PHYSICAL ADDRESS:
On their official website, I found this information: That Public Likes is a Product of NCL Holdings whose US Head Quarters is located at 885 Mc Carty St NW, Suite 842 Grand Rapids, MI 49544. THIS PHYSICAL ADDRESS DOES NOT EXIST. Check the spelling of Mccarty as Mc Carty. Furthermore, the original company Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd which they shorten to NCL Holdings is located in Miami, Florida but not Grand Rapids, Michigan.
4. YOU PAY TO WORK:
Even the most reputable freelance sites do not ask for interested individuals to pay in order to work. Publiclikes don't actually offer a service, but a package, or trivial product to help you get started. They entice you to register for free and then show you that you can really make money by doing NOTHING. They then entice you to pay a certain fee to upgrade but promise you that you will start making GOOD MONEY still doing nothing. As one of my friends would say, “unless you are starting a blog online or buying a legit service, never pay for anything. That includes paying for a job or paying to work.”
5. KENYANS MUST BUY UNGA AT ANY COST:
The Company says that they are currently expanding their Footprint into Sub Saharan Africa, Asia and Europe. Assume the US address is genuine, then Kenya is the second country and in fact the only one in Sub Saharan Africa where they have opened an office. The office is just in our Footprint-Westlands, Parklands Road Mayfair Suites, 3rd Floor. We are lucky niggas.
6. PAYMENT THROUGH MPESA:
They say that all deposits and withdrawals are to be made automatically through Paypal/Payza/Bitcoin depending on geolocation. I used VPN to register from Brazil. I was surprised that they accept MPESA in Brazil.
7. PAYING A FEW GUYS DOES NOT MEAN IT IS LEGIT:
Just because you've made money on public likes does not mean it is legit. Even pyramid schemes make money for early birds to attract other unsuspecting birds (some said this in earlier comments). This is how it works. Suppose the company pays 10 guys for the amount they made doing nothing within 50 days which is around ksh 2500 each totaling ksh 25, 000. These 10 guys will be convinced that the site is genuine and upgrade to Business Basic Plan by paying ksh 4500 each which translates to ksh 45, 000. The company will make a profit of Ksh 20,000. Another scenario here is that these 10 guys are likely to recruit at least 1 individual each to register at the site and upgrade immediately to start making GOOD MONEY. So the company will get another 10 extra guys paying ksh 4500 each totaling ksh 45,000. What will happen next is that the company will stop showing the said adverts on the upgraded accounts.
MY VERDICT
Public likes is a Kenyan thing scamming unsuspecting jobless Kenyans, especially the young emotional teens who want to make quick money doing nothing.
